NOTEWORTHY:
Albuquerque is less all around picturesque than Santa Fe, but once you dive in a little deeper it has more true flavor in its streets. Its city with a rural feel, and you can get from anywhere to a more countryside feel quickly. It's nestled against the Sandia Mountains and has a great variety of activities for all ages.

Most businesses are open in ABQ, but the city does have more stricly enforced mask rules than some places, and more restrictions on pool/gym time, etc. at larger properties.

NOTEWORTHY:
AWARENESS: Be aware that everything closes early here so it's best to arrive before 4pm.
This is a charming but very small town on your way from Albuquerque to Silver City. The church stay is so unique that we recommend stopping for the night, grabbing a bottle of local wine and letting your kids run off their energy in the beautiful courtyard.and indulging in the best green chile around.
Hatch is so small the to do, and to eat list are one and the same. :)

CLIMATE: Elevation almost 6000 feet, Silver City is at the base of the Pinos Altos Mountains and gets cold at night - but generally mild during the day April - Oct.
NOTEWORTHY:
Silver City is a not yet discovered (or rediscovered) delight in Southwestern New Mexico. It's naturally beautiful setting rivals Santa Fe, and its town culture and art scene have more of an authentic feel even though it has some sophisticated patronage.
CURRENT COVID RESTRICTIONS
Most businesses are open in Silver City, masks required in some - mostly when ordering or interacting with staff. Masks optional for guests at our recommended lodge stay.

MESILLA
Deeply rooted in Spanish history, this little township takes you back in time. It's also conveniently near beautiful White Sands of New Mexico

CLIMATE: Southwestern warm and mild climates most of the year. Temps drop and high winds possible in the winter months. Late Oct - early Nov are the best time to visit
NOTEWORTHY:
Mesilla is a beautiful little Spanish colonial style town surrounding a delightful square, just south of Las Cruces. We recommend staying here instead of Las Cruces as your basecamp for visiting White Sands. It's a much more charming and quiet stay.
